Built to Deliver.
From the first tree cleared to the final grade, we build the ground North Florida grows on. Three generations in, we still run every job like our name is on it, because it is.

For more than 60 years, North Florida developers and contractors have trusted Smith Trucking to plan carefully, staff experienced crews and stand behind the work.
That standard is passed down on purpose. Every leader on our sites is trained through the Smith Leadership Institute and held to its six pillars.
Inside the Smith Leadership InstituteEquipment, trucks, material and people under one roof, all working toward one goal: delivering the site on schedule with no hand-offs to chase.

A substantial fleet lets us put the right machines on the job and hold production as the work changes.

In-house commercial hauling gives us more control over logistics, import/export and schedule.

Our material network is a real advantage when project location and requirements line up.
Where it fits · not a requirement
Operators, field leaders, project managers and estimators turn our resources into production.
Our roots and reputation are in Northeast Florida, and our crews work across the Southeast. We mobilize wherever the project makes sense and bring the same planning, production and single point of accountability to every site.

One contract and one team, from raw land to a finished site.
Mass fill and excavation at production scale.
Sites cleared and sequenced to the earthwork plan so production never waits.
Our pit network puts fill close to your site, with less haul and lower cost.

Free value engineering review. Send us your plans and we'll put AI technology to work optimizing them, backed by field expertise and an understanding of materials that is the best in our industry. The goal is simple: save our owners money.
The cheapest cubic yard is the one you never have to haul. Our estimators and field leaders look for savings before construction starts by balancing the site, tightening the haul and sequencing the work so the equipment never waits.
We bring pre-permitted plans that shorten the path to mobilization, and we consult with developers on generating borrow pits from their own sites so fill is produced on the property instead of bought and hauled in.
We're not just hired to run machines. We are hired to save people money.
01A great site starts before the first machine moves.
We study the whole site before we mobilize, working through the cut and fill, the drainage, the sequencing of every trade, the haul and the risks alongside owners, engineers and general contractors.
02We self-perform the heavy work, and we run the site.
Our own scrapers, dozers, excavators and trucks, run by experienced crews, carry the clearing, earthwork, grading and stormwater. Around that core we coordinate the rest of the site scope so the schedule has one owner.
03Move the earth. Protect the schedule. Deliver the site.
We turn complex site packages into predictable outcomes, with one point of contact, finished grades on schedule and clear communication from mobilization to turnover.
From raw timberland to build ready pads, across Northeast Florida and into Georgia.
Three phases of turnkey site work delivered back to back, carrying the project from raw timberland to finished pads with one contractor from first tree down to final grade.
Site development for a 1,300 home resort community with an 18 hole championship golf course: amenity center, residential pads and course.
A new residential community taken from raw land to build ready pads.
Clearing, earthwork and grading that took the phase from raw land to build ready.
Earthwork and grading delivered so the builder could move to vertical construction on schedule.
Across these five projects alone, Smith Trucking has cleared more than 1,250 acres and moved nearly 3.9 million cubic yards of material.
The technology matters. The work matters more. Our Construction Technologies department connects the office and the jobsite, on the ground, in the air, below the waterline and inside the model, so crews build to grade and owners see exactly where the job stands.
Our in-house survey team uses GPS and GNSS equipment to tie project coordinates to real conditions: collecting points, checking elevations and setting construction layout.
The project's 3D surface goes into the cab, so GPS-trained operators build to the intended grade on every cut and fill.
We fly every active site and deliver a cut/fill analysis with every monthly pay app, plus stockpile measurements and progress documentation.
Our survey boats measure water depth and map the pond bed, so we understand submerged conditions in ponds and excavation areas that aerial photos can't reveal.
Our modeling team checks the plans and builds the 3D construction models before iron hits the site, turning elevations and slopes into a form the field can use.
Field measurements, drone surfaces and design models are compared to track quantities and explain change, giving everyone a common starting point for decisions.
A live link to our pit network shows which pits are open and which are closed right now, so you can plan fill around real availability instead of a phone call.
Text the material, delivery address and estimated loads to our office. It goes straight to our pricing director, who texts back per-load pricing. No portal, no login, no phone tag.
AI is a force multiplier for our team. We're putting it to work behind the scenes to sharpen how we plan, price and run our jobs, enhancing our people, not replacing them. Our people stay in charge of every decision.
Smith Trucking is on the leading edge of autonomous earthmoving, working alongside industry innovators on the next generation of excavation.
Equipment doesn't build sites. People do. These are the three commitments we make to everyone who works here, and the standard we hold ourselves to.
We get better every day through consistent learning and continuing education, from the Smith Leadership Institute to field training and mentorship. Every new hire should see a path to promotion and a career from day one.
We work hard, tell the truth and keep our word, on the job and off it. We treat every person on the site with respect, because good people build great companies.
We own the outcome, not just the task: the schedule, the safety and the quality of every site. We take responsibility when things go wrong and share the credit when they go right.

We build sites from the ground up. We build our leaders the same way, one lift at a time.
Every job is really run by people. Our superintendents, supervisors and foremen set the pace, hold the standard and keep the crew safe. The Smith Leadership Institute trains them deliberately, in order, with real tools they use on their own crews.
The Institute is where our culture codes come to life in the field. It is our commitment to Learning, giving every leader a clear path to grow. Character and Ownership are the first two pillars, so every leader we build stands on the same ground our company does.
Six Pillars, Built Bottom to Top
You cannot pave over bad ground. Character first, results last.
We're always looking for operators, drivers, field leaders, mechanics and project professionals who want to learn, lead with character and own their work. Whether you're starting out or bringing years of experience, there's room to grow here.
No portal, no login, no phone tag. Text our office and our pricing team sends back per-load pricing, delivered by our own trucks.
